SU PUNG SEOK (2026-2027)

flute / alto flute, clarinet / bass clarinet, piano, violin, cello, percussion

I. SU - 8 minutes

II. PUNG - 6 minutes

III. SEOK (in-progress)

Structured in three movements, SU PUNG SEOK reflects the architecture and elemental qualities of the Water, Wind, Stone Museum on Jeju Island, South Korea, designed by Korean architect Itami Jun (Yoo Dong Ryong) in 2006. Each movement—SU (水, water), PUNG (風, wind), and SEOK (石, stone)—corresponds directly to the museum’s themes of water, wind, and stone, while exploring different architectural materials, spatial characteristics, and interactions with nature. While I intend the three movements as a complete cycle, each may also be performed independently as a standalone work.
