Program Note
For thousands of years, people have looked to the stars as symbols of the eternal and the sacred, out of reach yet always present. There’s an old belief that when someone dies, their soul becomes a star, watching over the living from afar. The writer Han Kang once asked, “Can the dead save the living?” I imagine the stars not only as lost loved ones but as the echoes of movements, voices, and lives of the past—still shaping our world, quietly and invisibly, in ways we often don’t notice until much later.
